Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the effect of Competence, Job Placement, and Workload on Employee Performance through Intrinsic Motivation as an intervening variable in the Communication and Information Service of the Riau Islands Provincial Government, totaling 105 employees.


Research Methodology: The research method uses a quantitative approach with the analysis of partial least squares (PLS) analysis techniques with SmartPLS version 4.0.


Results: The results of this study state that Competence has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance. Job Placement had a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance. Workload has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance. Intrinsic Motivation has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance. Competence had a positive and insignificant effect on Intrinsic Motivation. Job Placement had a positive and insignificant effect on Intrinsic Motivation. Workload had a positive and significant effect on Intrinsic Motivation. Intrinsic Motivation mediates the influence of Competence on Employee Performance. Intrinsic Motivation does not mediate the influence of Job Placement on Employee Performance. Intrinsic Motivation mediates the influence of Workload on Employee Performance.
